Job Title: Senior Escort Service Worker

Background:

The Southeast Asian Community Center (SEACC) is a non-profit, multi-ethnic, community-based organization whose mission is to provide essential services to low-income, new immigrant, Limited English Proficient (LEP), and small business communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Founded in 1975, SEACC has long been a leading advocate for the Southeast Asian Community nationwide and a key player in the transformation of the Tenderloin District of San Francisco into a more vibrant and livable community for families.

Job Summary: Provides escort services to Asian-American adults to perform activities such as bank, grocery shopping, medical or dental appointments, senior centers etc.

DUTIES:

  • Provides escort services to Asian-American adults to perform activities such as bank, grocery shopping, medical or dental appointments, senior centers etc. Meet senior and travel with them to activities.
  • Confirm referral information with Director of Social Services in regards to client’s information, meeting date, time and location
    • Based on referrals locations and demand, plan out route accordingly on weekly schedule. Escort service can be on one-to-one basis or with multiple seniors if possible.
    • Perform as guard when there is an emergency to protect senior and follow emergency procedures such as calling 911
  • Attend all required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the collection of data that will be entered into the DAAS database
  • Monitor the status of the clients and refer with their supervisors to make sure that cases are mandated

Job Qualifications

  • Must have interest to work with older adults and disabled adults
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Be able to follow emergency procedures and call 911 when needed, report to related department.
  • Familiar with the community of San Francisco.
  • First aid and CPR certificates preferred.
  • Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle for performance of job duties
  • If driving, must have and maintain a valid CA driver license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage
  • Bilingual in English and Vietnamese
